The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued Labor Advisory No. Labor Advisory No. 16 series 0f 2026 Payment of Wages for Special (Non-Working) Days in the National Capital Region on November 16–18, 2026 (49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits).
The Philippines will host the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits this November, bringing together ASEAN leaders and senior officials.
Under the advisory signed by Secretary Francis N. Tolentino on September 28, the “no work, no pay” rule applies to employees who do not report to work, unless company policy, practice, or CBA provides otherwise.
Employees who work on these special days will receive a 30% wage premium for the first eight hours, plus an additional 30% for overtime. If the special day falls on their rest day, the premium is 50%, plus an additional 30% for overtime.
For guidance on wage computation, please refer to the provisions outlined in DOLE Labor Advisory No. 16, Series of 2026.
