SUBJECT   :Labor Advisory 14 series of 2026 Suspension of Work in the Private Sector by Reason of Weather Disturbances and Similar Occurrences

Dear PMAPer,

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued Labor Advisory No. 14, Series of 2026, providing guidelines on the suspension of work in the private sector due to weather disturbances and similar occurrences.

The advisory covers the suspension of work, applicable payment of wages, and the protection of employees who fail or refuse to work due to imminent danger. Employees who work for at least six (6) hours are entitled to full regular pay, while those who work for less than six (6) hours are entitled to proportionate pay. Employees who do not work are generally not entitled to regular pay, subject to applicable company policies, practices, CBAs, or leave credits.
