Overview:

This training equips participants to lead change effectively by understanding its evolving nature, addressing beliefs and resistance, supporting transitions, and applying a structured approach to drive successful and sustainable outcomes.

Outline:

I. Understanding What Has Changed About Change

Change has been a constant topic of discussion for decades, but the nature of change itself has evolved. This session examines the current environment in which organizations operate and highlights the forces that make change more complex, faster, and less predictable. Understanding this context provides a strong foundation for leading change effectively.

II. Recognizing the Different Types of Change

Differentiating between incremental and breakthrough change is essential to managing change successfully. Each type presents distinct challenges and requires different leadership approaches, tools, and levels of effort to overcome resistance and achieve results

III. Examining Beliefs About Change

Beliefs about change influence how individuals and organizations respond to it. This session encourages surfacing and discussing underlying assumptions, including limiting or false beliefs that may hinder the achievement of desired change outcomes.

IV. Distinguishing Between Change and Transition

While change can be implemented, people do not always transition successfully. This gap is a common reason why change initiatives fail. Leaders must actively support individuals through the transition process, using tools such as the transition curve to guide understanding and adaptation.

V. Understanding Why Organizational Change Efforts Fail

Many change initiatives fail due to a combination of systemic, leadership, and people-related factors.

This segment presents a holistic view of common failure points and offers insights into how organizations can address them proactively.

VI. Applying an Eight-Step Process for Successful Change

Successful change requires a disciplined and structured approach. This segment introduces an eight-step change process that supports the achievement of stated objectives, including mobilizing stakeholders, appointing change champions, and developing an effective communication plan.
