With the newly issued Wage Order No. NCR-24 effective July 16, 2023, minimum wage increase has been granted for workers in private establishments.
Wage distortion (also known as Salary distortion) often arises when there is application of a mandated wage increase. This usually signifies salary differentials across positions within an organization.
Understanding wage distortion, its elements and implications, logical bases, and practical guidance (computation) can help ensure employers’ compliance with Philippine labor laws.
