The 2024 TOWER Awards

The TOWER Awards honors the nation’s most outstanding non-supervisory blue-collar and white-collar workers. It is conferred to employees for their exceptional and outstanding innovations which have significantly contributed to a department or to company’s overall efficiency, productivity, and performance.

Founded in 1975 by the Rotary Club of Manila, the TOWER Awards Program aims to recognize the contribution of workers to economic development while uplifting Filipino workers’ morale, enhancing individual career opportunities, and promoting industrial peace.

In recent years, the Rotary Club of Manila has partnered with People Management Association of the Philippines and Department of Labor and Employment in the search for the most outstanding workers of the Republic.

Objectives

  • Promotes wider recognition and the dignity of labor.
  • Recognizes the importance and contributions of those occupations which are especially relevant to the economic and technological progress of the country.
  • Honors organizations that put their people first, deliver future-focused excellence in the field of people management, and understand the importance of their human capital as key contributors to business outcomes and results.
  • Inculcates pride in excellent and outstanding work performance worthy of emulation.
  • Helps develop critical, innovative/inventive, and creative thinking at the workplace, and inculcate a mindset for quality and productivity in the work force.
  • Recognizes employee excellence and innovation.

Awards/Categories:

INDIVIDUAL AWARD

Criteria and Qualifications

  • A citizen of the Republic of the Philippines.
  • A non-supervisory blue-collar or white-collar employee.
  • An employee whose contribution is directly involved in the basic/main/ancillary activity of the enterprise.
  • An employee with a consistent record of high performance in the past 3 years.
  • An employee with good moral character.
  • An employee who has introduced extraordinary, original, and innovative ideas, systems, or designs that have brought beneficial results to the company and/or work environment in terms of improvements in quality, productivity, cost reduction, competitiveness, etc.
  • An employee with outstanding accomplishments or contributions that enhance the development of skills, trade, or occupation.
  • An employee with exemplary, distinctive, and consistently excellent performance that sets him apart from others, making him worthy of emulation and special recognition.
  • The nominee must be the proponent of the idea/invention and must ensure the continuity of the innovation. He/She should be evidently involved from the conceptualization up until the execution of the innovation.
  • The innovation must have been in effect for a MINIMUM OF TWO (2) YEARS.

INNOVATIVE TEAM AWARD

Objective

  • To recognize the best practices in innovation/creativeness by rank-and-file teams through collaborative effort in the workplace.  Raise awareness and increase innovative and creative mindsets for the rank-and-file teams; to encourage teamwork through collaborative efforts among team members.

Criteria and Qualifications

  • Each team member is a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines
  • A non-supervisory blue-collar or white-collar employee.
  • Team whose contribution is directly involved in the basic, main, or ancillary activities of the enterprise.
  • Team with a consistent record of high performance in the past three (3) years.
  • Each team member with good moral character.
  • Team who has introduced extraordinary, original, and innovative ideas, systems, or designs that have brought beneficial results to the company and/or work environment in terms of improvements in quality, productivity, cost reduction, competitiveness, etc.
  • Team with outstanding accomplishments or contributions that enhance the development of skills, trade, or occupation.
  • Team with exemplary, distinctive, and consistently excellent performance that sets them apart from others, making them worthy of emulation and special recognition.
  • Each team member should be evidently involved from the conceptualization up until the execution and continuity of the innovation.
  • The team has a maximum of five (5) members
  • The innovation must have been in effect for a MINIMUM OF TWO (2) YEARS.

HALL OF FAME AWARD

Objective

  • Established to recognize either individuals that had consistently been a TOWER awardee or organizations that manifest a culture of innovation, inventions, and continuous improvement and as a result had led its employees to being recognized as TOWER awardees.


Criteria and Qualifications

For individuals or teams – consistent TOWER AWARDEES in any of the following:

  1. Bronze – Three (3) time winner in a span of five (5) year
  2. Silver –  Three (3) consecutive years
  3. Gold – Four (4) consecutive years
  4. Platinum – Five (5) consecutive years

For Organizations employees or teams are winners of the TOWER awards;

  1. Six (6) TOWER winners in a span of three (3) years;
  2. Eight (8) TOWER winners in a span of four (4) years;
  3. Ten (10) TOWER winners in a span of five (5) years

Hall of Fame Award begins in year 2022 (future winners have chances to win this award based on criteria).
