Job Description
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) within the Australian Embassy in Manila, Philippines, is a lead agency managing Australia’s international presence. DFAT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to fill the Senior Program Officer position in the Development Section.
The Senior Program Officer (Human Development & Health) (LE6) under the limited direction of the Second Secretary, is responsible for managing the delivery of a range of complex activities. This includes the design and implementation of the new Human Development initiative, and managing existing and new programs funded under Australia’s Vaccine Access and Health Security Initiative, the QUAD Vaccine Partnership and the other health sector investments as they arise. The successful candidate should have experience in policy formulation, program or project management in the development or public policy sector and demonstrated understanding of development issues in the Philippines, demonstrated ability to work in a team, and contribute to enhancing team capacity through collaboration, and where required, coaching/mentoring junior colleagues, and experience in program management, program design, financial management, contract management and monitoring, and evaluation is preferred

Terms of Employment
The Senior Program Officer (Human Development & Health) (LE6) is a locally engaged staff position based at the Australian Embassy Manila. It is not an Australian Public Service position. The successful candidate will be engaged in a full-time assignment for a permanent employment contract. The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be entitled to leave, comprehensive health and group life insurance and other conditions as per the locally engaged staff conditions of service.
