IR Kapihan: Understand D.O. 174 The Correct HR Way

The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) through its chapter in Central Luzon hosted an Industrial Relations (IR) Kapihan with the topic “Understand D.O. 174 The Correct HR Way. The IR Kapihan was held at Royce Hotel, Clark Special Economic Zone,Pampanga last May 6, 2017.  There were around 80 HR practitioners present to learn and participate in the Kapihan.

The morning’s program started with the opening remarks from Immediate Past President Jesse Francis Rebustillo, sharing his last travel and translating it to the current situation of Human Resource where he encourage everyone to put an E in the Human Resource to make it Humane. He also welcomed the crowd and actively participates in the said event.

The speakers are coined as the ‘IR dream team’ who have been part of the different consultative meetings about D.O. 174. Atty. Noel Balsicas, CPA is first to share his talk about the case of Quintanar, et al. vs. CCBPI and explains its relevance.  Atty. Jon Zuniga talks about the “Recent Supreme Court Decisions on Contracting”. And last of the speakers is Atty Winston Cruz where gave participants a glimpse that comprise the D.O. 174.

After the talk of the speakers, the participants actively engage in the question and answer portion where they get first hand legal opinion from PMAP’s IR Dream Team.

The forum ended with a closing remark from Immediate Past President Jesse Francis Rebustillo.

This is one of PMAP’s Industrial Relations Committee’ s continuing effort in providing legal or technical advice to its members especially in clarifying and interpreting IR laws, matters and issues.
